Signs of Spring...

Thought I would take a walk tonight and see if I could find any signs of spring. Well I did, snow banks are disappearing, water is running, kill deer are making nests, the mama robins are chirping in the trees, and the trees are budding. SPRING is on the way!!!

Basket Making.

This past week-end I hosted a basket making class. How did I get rigged into that you ask? Well, back in Feb. when we had our Women's week-end, one of the classes that were offered was basket making. The year prior I had saw these basket and feel in love. So this year I couldn't wait to make one. And when I showed the rest of my group my treasure they too loved it, hence the basket making class. I think everyone had a good time!!! I really feel I did much better the 2ND time around. My first basket is the square one, and the round one is my 2ND attempt. Other photos are just from the day...

2 words.... SUPER BOWL!!!!!

That's right baby we are heading to the super bowl and when I say we I mean the Green Bay Packers.... greatest football team god put on this earth.. the playoff game on Sunday was a bit of a nail bitter and I am already a nail bitter..needless to say I really have no nails left. At one point in the 3rd quarter I wanted to smoke a cigarette have not done that in 9 years!!! Worries me what Feb. 6Th will bring.. So this page is dedicated to The Packers and my Favorite player Donald Driver.... Good luck boys!!!!

Taking something old and making in "new"

Another make over....

This time the master bedroom. What a project that was. We had received some money from my parents for Christmas this year, and the big question- what to do. I always like to do something for the house or for us as a couple. So this year I decided to redo our room.. new bedding, new paint, new decorations.. Now mind you I have not gotten a new bedspread since we have been married and that has been 17 years. It was a wedding gift from my husbands siblings and spouses. It was reversible and still in really good shape. But it was time for a change. Now I knew we could not afford new carpet so I planned my color theme around that. And the final result - if I can pat myself on the back.. AWESOME!!! Here are some before and afters. I feel like a princess in her own castle..:-)

Christmas 2010

Our Christmas holiday started on Friday Dec. 24th, with the family going to church and than to my parents house for alot of food - drinks- games - presents and fun.Saturday we went to by my brother and sister in laws for lunch. Again, more food, drinks - family and fun. Saturday evening my oldest daughter M and her husband N made it home and we had our family Christmas. More drinks, popcorn ( M got a new popcorn popper) so we of course we had to try it out. Sunday brought my whole family here for dinner.. more food, drinks, games, presents.... I am glad that we do not celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. My waist line would never survive...LOL Sure am glad with Monday came a day off and a day of well deserved rest!!
